Stine Knudsen Kirkhorn is a lecturer in Norwegian at the Scandinavian Section of the English department. She has a master’s degree in linguistics from the University of Oslo, 2022 (master’s thesis: When it comes to making a difference: A study of indirect phraseological borrowings from English into Norwegian). She has taught Norwegian as a second language at the International Summer School at the University of Oslo as well as to adult immigrants. She has also worked as a translator for the Norwegian patent bureau and as a linguist for a software company. Her academic interests include studies of the Norwegian language, language change, borrowings, Norwegian as a second language.
